The Life of Frederic Remington

The Frederic Remington Art Museum, located in Ogdensburg, New York, is dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, preserving and interpreting the art and archives of this accomplished artist. The number one question asked by visitors is, "Did Remington live here?" The answer is no, but this is the place to know him best. The house that has been the center of the museum since its founding in 1923 is a place Remington surely visited on his many trips to Ogdensburg.

Reports Save Time, Increase Efficiency

According to Debbie Kirby, the Museum Shop Manager at the Frederic Remington Art Museum, "Cash Register Express simplifies our accounting procedures." Cash Register Express generates dozens of reports for you at the touch of a button. To run a report, all you need to do is select which report, select the criteria and click or touch the Print or Display button. "I like the numerous reports CRE offers and use them daily to track sales, reorder limits, and past sales by customers. Using CRE has improved the shop by allowing me to spend more time with customers and working on our web site."

Track Inventory with Bar Codes

The gift shop offers a wide variety of merchandise inspired by Frederic Remington's work. They offer bronze sculpture reproductions, canvas and paper print reproductions, western theme items in addition to many other products. Inventory was a manual process before the shop computerized, where they had to look up prices and write down the description for most of the items they sold. Margaret Jacobs, the Museum Shop Assistant, stated that "Having bar codes on the items for sale takes the guess-work out of trying to figure out what an item is." Cashiers scan the bar code of the item, the item and price come up on the invoice, and when the transaction is ended, the item is automatically deducted from stock.
